If you should sin

 Leader: Pastor McKinnon

TEXT:  “He that covereth his sin shall not prosper:  but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.”  Proverbs 28:13

Lesson Text:  Psalms 51:1-4, 7-12; I John 1:4-10; Isaiah 55:6-7

Read:  II Samuel 12:13; James 5:14-16

Psalms 51:1   Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy loving kindness:  according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out me transgressions.

1         Wash me thoroughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.

2         For I acknowledge me transgressions:  and my sin is ever before me.

3         Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight:  that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest.

4         Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean:  wash me, and I shall be whitter than snow.

5         Make me to hear joy and gladness; that the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice.

6         Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities.

7      Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.

8      Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me.

9      Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.

I John 1:4   And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full.

1         This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in

him is no darkness at all.
2         If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth.

3         But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

4         If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

5         If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleans us from all unrighteousness.

6      If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

Isaiah 55:6   Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near.

1        Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts:  and let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.
